The Seattle Kraken extended the contract of coach Dave Hakstol through the 2025-26 season Wednesday.

Financial terms of the deal were not announced by the team for Hakstol, who was named as a Jack Adams Award finalist for coach of the year after guiding the Kraken to a 100-point season and their first playoff berth. Seattle's record of 46-28-8 in 2022-23 represented an improvement of 19 wins and 40 points from its inaugural season.
