Kailer Yamamoto signed a two-year, $6.2 million contract with the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday. It has an average annual value of $3.1 million. 

The 23-year-old forward was a restricted free agent and avoided a salary arbitration hearing scheduled for Aug. 7.

Yamamoto had NHL career highs in goals (20), assists (21) and points (41) in 81 regular-season games for the Oilers last season.
