Antoine Vermette has announced his retirement after 14 seasons with the Ottawa Senators, Columbus Blue Jackets, Arizona Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks.

The 36-year-old won the Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks and played for the Ducks last season. He didn't find a home as a free agent this past offseason.

"I am immensely grateful for all these incredible years punctuated by memorable moments that I will cherish forever," Vermette said in a statement. "It was a privilege sharing my daily life with teammates, to forging friendships that will endure well beyond the victories and defeats."

In the faceoff circle, Vermette had far more victories than defeats. He won 56.6 percent of his faceoffs, the ninth-best mark since the league began tracking the statistic in 1997-98.
