Rangers President and GM Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with free agent defenseman Dan Boyle.

Boyle registered 12 goals and 24 assists for 36 points, along with 32 penalty minutes in 75 games with San Jose this past season. He led the team in average ice time (21:16), ranked third on the team in power play goals (six), tied for third on the team in power play assists (12), and finished fourth on the team in power play points (18). 

 During the 2014 Playoffs, Boyle tallied four assists and recorded eight penalty minutes in seven games. He led the team in average ice time (21:51), power play assists (three), and power play points (three), tied for the team lead in assists, and led San Jose defensemen in points (four).

In 954 career games with Florida, Tampa Bay, and San Jose, Boyle has registered 144 goals and 417 assists for 561 points, along with 643 penalty minutes. 

Boyle was originally signed as a free agent by Florida on March 30, 1998.
