The Ducks announced today that the club has signed center David Steckel to a one-year contract through the 2013-14 season.

Steckel, 31, has played in 418 NHL games with Washington, New Jersey, Toronto and Anaheim, scoring 33-46=79 points with 129 penalty minutes. The center was acquired by Anaheim from Toronto on Mar. 15, 2013 (in exchange for Ryan Lasch and a 2014 seventh-round draft pick) and appeared in 21 contests for the Ducks in 2012-13.

Selected by Los Angeles in the first round (30th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Steckel has split the 2013-14 season with Iowa and Norfolk of the AHL.
