GM Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have acquired center Matthew Lombardi from the Maple Leafs in exchange for the Coyotes fourth round draft choice in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

“We are very pleased to bring a player like Matthew back to our team,” said Maloney. “Matthew is a very strong skater who will add quickness and skill to our lineup. He is an intelligent center who will be a great addition to our team and provides us with added depth at the center position.”

Last season, Lombardi played 62 games with Toronto, recording 8-10-18 and 10 penalty minutes.
