NHL players will receive their last check from on Oct. 11, the escrow payment for salary withheld for accounting purposes from last season. 

Players will receive eight percent of their salary from the season.

Players will then begin missing their twice-monthly paychecks.

Money set aside for the players’ association will be paid back to the players during the work stoppage, an amount estimated at roughly $10,000 per month per player.

Players have been widely preparing for a lockout this season.
