Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson limped to the locker room after getting knocked to his knees by Islanders defenseman Tom Poti in the third period and didn't return for the end of Ottawa's 4-2 victory Tuesday night. During a power play about four minutes into the frame, Alfredsson played the puck behind the New York net. He avoided hard-hitting Brendan Witt, but took a big check up high from Poti and appeared to bang his leg against the end boards. "Poti hit me and I just kind of got turned in the wrong direction and I just tweaked the muscle a little bit," Alfredsson said after getting postgame treatment. "I felt it right away and I wasn't able to finish."
