The Tampa Bay Lightning have re-assigned defenseman Matt Smaby to the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League, Executive Vice President and General Manager Jay Feaster announced. Smaby will join the Admirals in Bridgeport on Sunday as they take on the Sound Tigers. Smaby, 6-foot-5 and 222 pounds, has played in three games with the Admirals this season. He recorded a plus-1 rating with two penalty minutes and two shots on goal during Norfolk?s homestand last weekend. The 6-foot-5, 222-pound defenseman made his NHL debut with the Lightning on October 4 against the New Jersey Devils. He has played in four games with Tampa Bay this season and recorded four penalty minutes with one shot on goal. He made his AHL debut last season with Springfield of the AHL and played in 66 games, tallying two goals and 16 points.
