David Nonis, Senior Vice-President and GM of the Maple Leafs, announced Friday that the club has signed unrestricted free agent right winger David Clarkson to a seven-year contract.

Clarkson, 29, played 48 games for the Devils last season, leading the team in goals (15), power-play goals (6), game-winning goals (tie-5), penalty minutes (78) and shots (180), while registering nine assists and 24 points.  Clarkson also collected three goals and nine assists for 12 points with 32 penalty minutes in 24 playoff games, helping New Jersey reach the 2012 Stanley Cup Final.

The undrafted forward was originally signed as a free agent by New Jersey on August 12, 2005.
