Canucks Get LaBarbera From Kings
The Canucks, still missing top goalie Roberto Luongo, acquired Jason LaBarbera from the Kings on Tuesday night for a seventh-round pick in the 2009 draft. LaBarbera will join Curtis Sanford and rookie Cory Schneider, who have been sharing Vancouver's goaltending duties since Luongo was placed on the injured list Nov. 23 because of a groin injury.

Sundin Picks Canucks Over Rangers
Mats Sundin has signed with the Vancouver Canucks for the remainder of the season. "He's real happy to have made a decision," Sundin's agent J.P. Barry said Thursday evening. "He's excited with the opportunity that the Canucks will offer him." Barry and Canucks GM Mike Gillis were still working out the final financial details of the deal but it's expected it will be worth somewhere around $10 million, pro-rated, for one season. Sundin was also considering the New York Rangers.
Canucks Retire Linden's No. 16
Trevor Linden and the Canucks fans who revered him celebrated his career when the team raised his No. 16 to the rafters Wednesday night, as reported by the Associated Press. The former forward wiped away a tear as he watched the banner bearing his name and number ascend in front of a cheering crowd. ?This is an incredible day,? said the 38-year-old Linden, who spent 16 seasons with the Canucks. ?To the fans of Vancouver and the province of B.C., it?s hard to express my gratitude to you.
Sundin's List Down To Rangers, Canucks
Mats Sundin has reportedly narrowed his list down to the Rangers and Canucks, according to his agent. "Mats has had enough opportunity now to obviously look at all the different proposals and he's focused on Vancouver and New York," Sundin's agent J.P. Barry told ESPN.com. "I expect him to make a decision in the next week so that he can join one of those teams after Christmas."
Luongo: 'There's No Timetable'
Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo said Sunday that there's no date for his return from a groin strain suffered Nov. 22 in Pittsburgh. "There's no timetable ? it's week to week," said Luongo. "It's tough to say with injuries, especially for myself. This is the first time I've dealt with a groin injury and just when I thought I was kind of ready to get back into it, my groin was telling me something else. "It's learn as you go here and I'm going to take it a bit slower this time around and make sure when I do get back on the ice, that there's not going to be a point where I'm going to have to stay off. I want to make sure I'm on the ice the rest of the way."

Canucks' goaltender Roberto Luongo may have suffered a slight setback as he attempts to return from an adductor strain in his groin. Luongo left practice on Wednesday after only 20 minutes of participation, according to a report by the Vancouver Sun. The team did not note the specific reason for his leaving the ice.
