Sabres Rule Out Rasmus Dahlin, Vladimir Sobotka Indefinitely

The Sabres' list of injuries continues to grow, with defenseman Rasmus Dahlin out indefinitely with a concussion.

The Sabres also announced forward Vladimir Sobotka is out indefinitely after having surgery on an injured right knee.

Lightning Acquire Devante Stephens From Sabres For Matthew Spencer

The Lightning have acquired defenseman Devante Stephens from the Sabres in exchange for defenseman Matthew Spencer, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

Stephens, 22, has appeared in three games with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL, posting one assist and 13 penalty minutes. 

The Surrey, British Columbia native was drafted by Buffalo in the fifth round, 122nd overall, at the 2015 NHL Draft.

Rookie Victor Olofsson Sets NHL Power-Play Goal Record

Sabres rookie forward Victor Olofsson has set an NHL record in becoming the first player to score each of his first seven career goals on the power play.

Olofsson made it seven straight on a one-timer off Rasmus Dahlin's pass from the right circle to open the scoring 6:27 into the second period against Dallas on Monday.

Sabres' Victor Olofsson Ties NHL Power-Play Goal Record

Sabres rookie forward Victor Olofsson has tied an NHL record by becoming the fourth player to score each of his first six career goals on the power play.

Olofsson made it six in a row with a one-timer off Jack Eichel's pass into the right circle to open the scoring 5:04 into the first period against Montreal on Wednesday night. The Swede's streak dates to the end of last season, when he scored twice in two games.

Sabres' Matt Hunwick To Miss Season With Neck Condition

Sabres defenseman Matt Hunwick is expected to miss this season due to a neck condition that bothered the 12-year veteran for much of last season.

General manager Jason Botterill based Hunwick's prognosis on offseason medical evaluations in making the announcement Wednesday, about two weeks before the Sabres report to training camp.

Sabres Unveil Golden Jersey To Celebrate 50th Anniversary

The Buffalo Sabres will celebrate their 50th anniversary with special golden jerseys this season.

They will wear them for 13 games to commemorate 2020, their 50th year in the NHL.

The white jerseys have the iconic Sabres crest in gold and navy blue. There are five stripes on each sleeve and at the bottom of the jersey to represent 50 years. The details also include logos from throughout Sabres history on the inner neckline.

Sabres, Jake McCabe Agree To Two-Year, $5.7M Contract

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Jake McCabe passed up his scheduled arbitration hearing by agreeing to a two-year, $5.7 million contract.

The deal was reached Saturday, a day before the hearing. McCabe was a restricted free agent, and both sides were seeking a one-year contract in arbitration.

The Blackhawks traded promising defenseman Henri Jokiharju to Buffalo on Tuesday for Alex Nylander, who hasn't quite lived up to expectations since he was selected by the Sabres with the eighth overall pick in the 2016 draft.

"Buffalo, that kind of stuff, that's in the past. Obviously thought maybe I would be in the NHL sooner than I have been, but I'm just really excited, looking forward to being part of the Blackhawks organization," Nylander said. "Really good with development players, so they actually know what they're doing."
