Canadiens Sign Paul Byron To Four-Year Deal

The Montreal Canadiens have agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension with forward Paul Byron.

The deal, which has an average annual value of $3.4 million, was announced Sunday.

The 29-year-old Byron had 20 goals and 15 assists in 82 games with the Canadiens last season and ranked second on the team in goals.

Devils Sign Miles Wood To Four-Year, $11M Deal

The New Jersey Devils have signed forward Miles Wood to a four-year, $11 million contract.

General manager Ray Shero announced the signing Saturday. Wood will earn $2.5 million annually in the first three years of the contract and $3.5 millon in 2021-22.

Reinhart was a restricted free agent, and the team's lone offseason holdout before reaching the deal after missing the first five days of training camp and two preseason games.

Stars Sign Tyler Seguin To Eight-Year, $78.8M Extension

The Dallas Stars have signed Tyler Seguin to an eight-year extension with an average annual value of $9.85 million.

"Emotional. It was a process, a learning process this summer. Learning the whole business side of negotiations,'' Seguin said. "At the end of the day, I knew where I wanted to be. I knew where home was. That was here in Dallas.''

The 26-year-old had a career-high 40 goals to go with 38 assists last season. The five-time All-Star has finished in the top 10 in goals four times in his career.

The team announced the multiyear extensions Thursday for president of hockey operations John Davidson, general manager Jarmo Kekalainen and assistant general manager Bill Zito, who was promoted to associate general manager.

Blake Wheeler has agreed to a five-year, $41.25 million extension with the Winnipeg Jets.

The deal has an average annual value of $8.25 million. 

Wheeler, a 10-year NHL veteran, is coming off a career year. He led the Jets with 91 points (23 goals, 68 assists) and he tied Claude Giroux of the Philadelphia Flyers for the NHL lead in assists.

Flames Sign Noah Hanifin To Six-Year, $29.7M Contract

The Calgary Flames have signed Noah Hanifin to a six-year, $29.7 million contract.

Hanifin had 10 goals and 22 assists in 79 games for the Carolina Hurricanes last season.

Hanifin had 18 goals and 65 assists in 239 games in three seasons with Carolina.
