The Blue Jackets have claimed forward Corey Tropp off waivers from the Sabres, club GM Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Tropp, 24, has registered three goals and six assists for nine points and 20 penalty minutes in 43 career NHL games, including 0-1-1 in nine appearances with the Sabres this season. He made his NHL debut during the 2011-12 season, tallying 3-5-8 and 20 penalty minutes in 34 games with Buffalo. He missed the majority of the 2012-13 campaign due to a knee injury.

Coyotes defenseman Rostislav Klesla has cleared waivers and is expected to report to the team's AHL affiliate in Portland, Maine, according to an ESPN.com report on Wednesday.
The Coyotes have waived Rostislav Klesla, once considered one of their top defensemen.
If no team claims Klesla by Wednesday, he will be assigned to Portland of the AHL, according to an ESPN.com report.
The Red Wings have placed Patrick Eaves on waivers, according to an ESPN.com report.
The move was made Thursday, giving other teams a day to claim the 29-year-old forward.
Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced Saturday that forward Patrick Kaleta has been placed on waivers, according to the team's Twitter.
The announcement comes just as Kaleta was scheduled to return to the Sabres lineup after serving a 10-game suspension for a hit to the head of Jackets defenseman Jack Johnson on Oct. 10.
