Lightning defenseman Dan Girardi is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury.

The team announced Girardi's status Wednesday before visiting the defending Stanley Cup champion Capitals. Girardi has missed the past five games.

Gabriel Landeskog will miss four to six weeks with an upper-body injury, the Colorado Avalanche have announced.

Landeskog was hurt midway through the third period of Thursday night's game against the Dallas Stars after he collided with Dallas goaltender Ben Bishop.

Bednar called missing Landeskog, a "huge loss."

Green, 33, missed the beginning of the season because of the virus, which has attacked his liver.

After the latest flare-up, he saw a specialist who recommended multiple weeks of rest.

He is under contract for one more year after this one, with a cap hit of $5.375 million.

Sabres defenseman Jake McCabe is expected to miss the remainder of the season with what the team calls an upper-body injury.

McCabe was hurt in a loss at Toronto on Saturday. With a little over a month left in the season, the Sabres on Monday announced the timetable for McCabe's recovery is between five and six weeks.
