Penguins Get Good News On Crosby, Malkin
Penguins star center Evgeni Malkin "probably is already ready to go" for the start of next season following recovery from torn ligaments in his right knee, according to coach Dan Bylsma.
Bylsma added that Sidney Crosby has been cleared by doctors for twice-per-day, off-ice workouts, just as he normally would at this point of the offseason.
Boston's Horton Hurt Shoulder Before Concussion
Before Bruins forward Nathan Horton suffered a season-ending concussion in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals, he was playing with a separated shoulder.
"Before his concussion he was actually hurt," general manager Peter Chiarelli said. "He had a serious separated shoulder. He was hurt significantly."
Horton suffered the injury in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the same game in which he scored the winning goal in the Bruins' 1-0 victory.
Mason Raymond Out 3-4 Months
Canucks forward Mason Raymond will be out three to four months with a fractured vertebrae after he was checked into the boards during Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals.
Raymond sustained a "vertebrae compression fracture" Monday night, the team said Tuesday. Defenseman Johnny Boychuk rode him into the boards 20 seconds into Boston's win that forced a decisive Game 7.
Canucks' Raymond Taken To Hospital For Evaluation
Canucks forward Mason Raymond was taken to a hospital Monday night after he was injured during the first shift of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals.
Raymond was hurt 20 seconds into the game when he got tangled up awkwardly with Boston defenseman Johnny Boychuk.
Raymond stayed facedown on the ice for several minutes before his teammates helped him off. He wasn't moving his legs as his teammates guided him to the bench.
The Canucks refused to disclose the nature of Raymond's injury but said he had been taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
Kesler Held Out Of Sunday's Practice
Canucks center Ryan Kesler didn't participate in practice Sunday, but coach Alain Vigneault expects him to play in Game 6, according to an ESPN.com report.
"He's fine, just gave him a day off, that's all," Vigneault said, departing slightly from his monolithic refusal to discuss player injuries.
Injured Horton Visits Bruins After Game 4 Win
Injured Bruins forward Nathan Horton made a surprise appearance in the locker room after the team's 4-0 win over the Canucks in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals Wednesday night at TD Garden, according to an ESPN.com report.
Wife: Horton Resting At Home
Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli said Wednesday he has not spoken with Nathan Horton, who suffered a season-ending concussion Monday in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals, but has exchanged text messages with Horton's wife.
"There's no update," Chiarelli said. "Everything remains the same today. His wife texted me back, saying that he's sleeping, feeling better and he'll get back to me, but I haven't heard from him yet today. But he was resting peacefully and the headaches were getting better."
Horton's agent, Paul Krepelka, said Horton was resting at home during Game 4 with "typical" concussion symptoms, saying Horton has headaches and is fatigued.
Horton Hospitalized After Hit
Bruins forward Nathan Horton remained hospitalized on Monday night after being stretchered off the ice, strapped to a backboard with his neck immobilized, following a scary hit from Vancouver's Aaron Rome in the first period of Game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals.
Fans, who gasped at the initial hit and again when it was replayed on the scoreboard, cheered for Horton as he left the ice. The team later announced that he was sent to Massachusetts General Hospital and able to move his arms and legs; a similar message on the scoreboard was greeted with a standing ovation.
Crosby Expected At Training Camp
Sidney Crosby is feeling good and is expected to be at training camp with the Penguins this fall.
However, his attendance will depend on how he reacts to his summer workouts once they intensify.
Malhotra, Hamhuis Will Be Game-Time Decisions
Canucks forwad Manny Malhotra and defenseman Dan Hamhuis will be game-time decisions for Saturday night's Game 2 of the Stanley Cup finals, Vancouver coach Alain Vigneault said Saturday.
Malhotra took part in the team's morning skate, while Hamhuis did not, according to an ESPN.com report.

Manny Malhotra returned to practice Friday with the Canucks.
Hamhuis Day To Day After Game 1 Injury
Dan Hamhuis left Game 1 with an apparent leg injury early in the second period.
