The Sharks are making sure two core stars aren't going anywhere this summer, signing Patrick Marleau and Joe Thornton to three-year contract extensions Friday, a source told ESPN.com.
Both forwards who signed three-year deals, were slated to be unrestricted free agents July 1.
Marleau gets on average $6.66M per year while Thornton, the team captain, will make $6.75M per year,

LeNeveu, 30, has split the season between the Hartford Wolf Pack and Providence Bruins of the AHL, posting a record of 1-2-0 in three games. He is 1-1-0 in two games with Hartford.
He has appeared in 22 career NHL contests over three seasons with the Coyotes and Blue Jackets, posting a 5-9-2 record with a 3.43 goals against average and .887 save percentage.
The Fernie, British Columbia native was originally selected by the Coyotes as a second round choice, 46th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

Duclair, 18, has registered 31 goals and 26 assists for 57 points, along with 42 penalty minutes in 37 games with the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League this season. He is tied for third in the league in points and game-winning goals (five), ranks third in goals, is tied for ninth in shorthanded goals (three), and 14th in power play goals (eight).
The Pointe-Claire, Quebec native was originally selected as the Rangers’ third round choice, 80th overall, in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
