Rangers President and GM Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with free agent forward Marek Hrivik.
Hrivik led Connecticut (AHL) with five goals and tied for the team lead with nine points in nine playoff games. He ranked second among AHL rookies in playoff goals, tied for third in points and first in power play goals (two).
Hrivik signed an Tryout Agreement with Connecticut on March 30, and made his debut on March 31 vs. Adirondack. He notched one goal in eight games with the Whale during the regular season.
He skated in 179 career QMJHL games with Moncton, registering 93 goals and 111 assists for 204 points, along with 40 penalty minutes and a plus-29 rating.
The Zilina, Slovakia native has also skated in several international tournaments, including the 2009 and 2011 IIHF U-20 World Junior Championship.

Rangers President and GM Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Jesper Fast.
Fast, 20, skated in 21 games with HV71 of the Swedish Elite League (SEL) this season, registering five goals and 11 assists for 16 points, along with four penalty minutes and a plus-nine rating.
In 2010-11, Fast tallied seven goals and nine assists for 16 points, along with six penalty minutes and a plus-six rating in 36 games with HV71 (SEL).
Fast was selected by the Rangers as a sixth round choice, 157th overall, in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Jackets Agree To Terms With Ryan Russell
The Jackets have agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way NHL-AHL contract with center Ryan Russell, club Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations and GM Scott Howson announced today.
Russell, 25, was acquired by Columbus from the Canadiens in exchange for forward Mike Blunden on July 7, 2011. In his first season, he tallied two goals and two penalty minutes in 41 games with the Jackets in 2011-12, while adding 9-6-15 and 15 penalty minutes in 31 games with the AHL's Springfield Falcons. He made his NHL debut on January 7 at the Kings and tallied his first career point with a goal on January 13 vs. the Coyotes.
The Caroline, Alberta native was the Rangers ninth pick, 211th overall, in the 2005 Entry Draft.
Blackhawks, Flick Agree To Three-Year Deal
The Blackhawks and forward Rob Flick have agreed to terms on a three-year contract.
The 21-year-old Flick had seven goals, six assists and 91 penalty minutes in 45 regular-season games with the AHL's Rockford IceHogs this season.
