The Kings have signed center Brayden Schenn to a One-Day NHL Regular Season Amateur Tryout Agreement and he is expected to join the Kings today in Vancouver, Kings President/GM Dean Lombardi announced today. In addition, the Kings have placed forward Andrei Loktionov on the injured reserve list.
Schenn, 18, was selected by the Kings in the first round (fifth overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He has played in 24 games this season with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL, and he leads his club in points (39) and assists (27). He also ranks tied for second in goals (12) while recording a plus-13 rating and three power-play goals. Schenn?s 39 points also rank fourth overall in the Western Hockey League while serving as a team captain.
