Panthers, Spencer Knight Agree To Three-Year Deal

Spencer Knight agreed to terms on a three-year contract with the Florida Panthers on Tuesday. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The 21-year-old goalie is in the final season of his three-year, entry-level contract and could have become a restricted free agent after this season.

Instead of Nathan MacKinnon having the mantle of one of the league's best bargain contracts, he is now about to become the highest-paid player in the game starting next season.

MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche agreed to an eight-year, $100.8 million extension that will carry a $12.6 million AAV, sources told ESPN, confirming multiple reports. It is a deal that will see MacKinnon sign the richest contract in the salary cap era. His new deal sees him overtake Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid for the top spot by $100,000 with McDavid's AAV being $12.5 million.

Senators, Tyler Motte Agree To One-Year, $1.35M Deal

The Ottawa Senators agreed to terms with Tyler Motte on a one-year, $1.35 million contract, the team announced Wednesday, securing one of the last remaining veteran forwards on the market.

Motte, 27, started last season with the Vancouver Canucks before a March 21 trade to the New York Rangers in time for a memorable playoff run.

Senators, Tim Stutzle Agree To Eight-Year, $66.8M Extension

The Senators have locked up another one of their top young players, agreeing to an eight-year, $66.8 million contract extension with center Tim Stutzle, the team announced Wednesday.

The deal, which carries an average annual value of $8.35 million and kicks in after the 2022-23 NHL season, is the latest move by general manager Pierre Dorion to solidify Ottawa's core.

Canadiens, Kirby Dach Agree To Four-Year, $13.45M Deal

Kirby Dach agreed to a four-year, $13.45 million contract with the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old center, who was a restricted free agent, had 26 points (nine goals, 17 assists) in 70 games with the Chicago Blackhawks last season.

Dach's contract carries an average annual value of $3.625 million per season.
