Columbus Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella ripped the game officials and the NHL in a fist-pounding tirade after a 3-2 shootout loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.

The Chicago Blackhawks are shutting down defensemen Calvin de Haan and Brent Seabrook for the season with both set to undergo surgery on Friday, the team announced Thursday.

Lindsey Vonn popped the question to New Jersey Devils star P.K. Subban.

Vonn linked a picture of herself and Subban with the ring, with the couple wearing matching striped pajamas in front of a Christmas tree with three dogs in the foreground. She also posted a close-up of Subban flashing the ring, with the words "drip drip" and a blue teardrop.

Washington's Alex Ovechkin, Boston's David Pastrnak, Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon and Edmonton's Connor McDavid were voted NHL All-Star captains.

Ovechkin was voted by fans to captain the Metropolitan Division, Pastrnak the Atlantic, MacKinnon the Central and McDavid the Pacific. McDavid was voted into All-Star Weekend for a fourth season in a row and Ovechkin a third in a row.

Minnesota Wild forward Jason Zucker will miss four to six weeks after having surgery to repair a fractured right fibula, general manager Bill Guerin said.

Devils general manager Ray Shero said trading winger Taylor Hall to the Coyotes on Monday wasn't related to whether or not the team could sign the pending free agent to a long-term extension.

"No. To paint that picture where he didn't want to play here or asked for a trade or demanded a contract ... that wasn't the reality, nor is it that he didn't want to potentially play here or that we didn't want to sign him," said Shero, who pointedly said that Hall "never turned down any offers" from the Devils.

The Florida Panthers acquired Ryan Haggerty from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday in exchange for Kevin Roy in a swap of forwards.

The Chicago Blackhawks concluded their investigation of abuse allegations against suspended assistant coach Marc Crawford, and the team announced Monday that he will resume assistant coaching duties on Jan. 2.

The Blackhawks said in a statement that they believe Crawford has taken steps to deal with his behavior and has learned from his past actions. They also noted that there have been no reported incidents during Crawford's tenure with the team.

Arizona Coyotes President of Hockey Operations and General Manager John Chayka announced today that the Coyotes have acquired forwards Taylor Hall and Blake Speers from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Arizona's 2020 first round draft choice (conditional), Arizona's 2021 third round draft choice (conditional), forwards Nick Merkley and Nate Schnarr and defenseman Kevin Bahl.

The Ilya Kovalchuk experiment is over for the Los Angeles Kings.

The team issued a statement Monday saying that he "has left the team and been placed on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract with the club."

The move comes a day after the 36-year-old received a $2.65 million roster bonus.
