Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa had a memorable night in the city where his NHL career began.

Hossa had a goal and an assist in the Blackhawks' 5-4 shootout win over the Senators, reaching two milestones where he got his start back in 1997. 

Hossa's goal with 6:10 left was his 1,000th career point and it came in his 1,100th NHL game.

Rangers defenseman John Moore has been suspended five games for his hit on Wild center Erik Haula on Monday night, the NHL's Department of Player Safety announced.

Blackhawks forward Daniel Carcillo will miss two-plus weeks due to a lower-body injury he suffered during a 3-2 loss to the Blues on Saturday, coach Joel Quenneville said after the game.

Patrice Bergeron earned his 500th point on the first of two assists, and Tuukka Rask maintained his mastery over Toronto as the Bruins beat the Maple Leafs 4-1 on Saturday night, according to an ESPN.com report.

Bruins captain Zdeno Chara suffered ligament damage to his knee and is expected to miss four to six weeks, a source confirmed to ESPNBoston.com.

Chara might need surgery, the source said. He suffered the injury in the first period of Thursday's loss to the Islanders and did not return to the game. Afterward, Bruins coach Claude Julien did not have an update on Chara's condition.

Slava Voynov's attorney says the Kings' defenseman never hit his girlfriend, and he blames Voynov's arrest on a misunderstanding partly caused by the couple's limited English. 

Craig Renetzky is hopeful the NHL will end Voynov's indefinite suspension after reviewing the events that led to Voynov's arrest at a hospital near his home.

"From everything they've both said to me, this didn't amount to a crime," Renetzky said. "I think when the police understand what happened, their impression will be quite different."
