Carcillo Active In Game 2 For Flyers

Sep 24, 2014 10:43 AM

Dan Carcillo is active for the Flyers in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Blackhawks. It is being reported that rookie James van Riemsdyk will be a healthy scratch to make room for Carcillo. "Danny doesn't cross that line too much," Philadelphia coach Peter Laviolette said. "In fact, it goes the other way. I believe he finished top three in the penalties he draws as opposed to the penalties he takes. It was like a plus-25 rating. Danny Carcillo has done an excellent job with his discipline when he's been in the lineup. He plays an aggressive game, can agitate a little bit and be physical. He's done an excellent job of controlling his game and keeping it legal."

When the Blackhawks heard about Maddon's plan, they offered free red home jerseys for the entire team, which most accepted. A fan of the Blues growing up, Maddon is pulling for the Blackhawks to defeat the Flyers and win their first Stanley Cup title since 1961.
