Predators Recall Klein From AHL Milwaukee
Nashville Predators' Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Kevin Klein from his conditioning assignment with the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.
Klein, 25 (7/8/82), appeared in six games with Milwaukee and tallied two assists. In five NHL games with Nashville this season, the Kitchener, Ont. native has posted one assist.
Caps' Gordon, Clark Expected To Sit Friday's Game
Washington Capitals' forward Boyd Gordon will miss at least the next two games with an undisclosed injury, and captain Chris Clark was listed as questionable for Friday's game at the Carolina Hurricanes.
Gordon scored in the shootout during Washington's loss to the Florida Panthers on Wednesday night. He did not skate Thursday, and the Capitals did not say where or when he was hurt. He was listed as week-to-week and won't play Friday or at Florida on Saturday.
Clark was listed as day-to-day after missing the end of Wednesday's game with a groin injury.
Another forward, Alexander Semin, is expected to play Friday after missing time because of an ankle injury.
Ducks Assign Mowers To SC Bern Of The Swiss National League
The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has assigned center Mark Mowers to SC Bern of the Swiss National League.
Mowers, 33 (2/16/74), appeared in 17 games for Anaheim this season, scoring a goal (1-0=1) with eight penalty minutes (PIM). The 5-11, 174-pound center spent the 2006-07 season with the Boston Bruins, scoring 5-12=17 points with 26 PIM in 78 games played. He set numerous career highs with the Bruins last season, including goals, assists, points, PIM, games played and average TOI (12:00).
Mowers was acquired from Boston in exchange for defensemen Brett Skinner and Nathan Saunders on Sept. 24, 2007. He has played in seven NHL seasons with Nashville, Detroit, Boston and Anaheim. In 278 career NHL games, he has collected 18-44=62 points with 70 PIM. The Decatur, Georgia native was originally signed by Nashville as a free agent on June 11, 1998.
During a four-year collegiate career at the University of New Hampshire, Mowers earned Hockey East Rookie of the Year honors in 1995 and was named to the NCAA East First All-American Team and Hockey East Second All-Star Team in 1998. With Nashville?s development affiliate in Milwaukee, he won the Ken McKenzie Trophy as the International Hockey League?s U.S.-born Rookie of the Year in 1999.

The Ottawa Senators have lost defenceman Anton Volchenkov for the next four weeks due to a broken index finger on his right hand.
The 25-year-old from Moscow was injured while blocking a shot from Nashville's J.P. Dumont in the opening minute of Thursday's 6-5 loss to the Nashville Predators.
NHL Suspends Coyotes' Jovanovski
Phoenix Coyotes defenseman Ed Jovanovski has been suspended for one game, without pay, as a result of delivering a blow to the head of Minnesota forward Marian Gaborik during NHL game #353 against the Wild Nov. 28, the National Hockey League announced today.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Jovanovski will forfeit $34,759.36. The money goes to the Players? Emergency Assistance Fund.
Jovanovski was assessed a minor penalty for roughing at 19:43 of the third period. He will miss tonight?s game at Chicago and be eligible to return Dec. 1 at Detroit.

Chris Drury had a goal and assist during two power plays in the second period, and the Rangers finally solved Rick DiPietro and the Islanders during a 4-2 victory Thursday night.
The Rangers had dropped all three previous meetings with their biggest rival this season, scoring only four goals in the process, and were 3-8-1 in the past 12 matchups dating to April 11, 2006. DiPietro played in all but one of those games and allowed two goals or fewer eight times.
