The Lightning have signed restricted free agent defenseman Bruno Gervais to a one-year, one-way contract today, vice president and GM Steve Yzerman announced. Gervais appeared in 53 games with the Islanders last season, recording six assists and averaging 15:40 in ice time per game. He has played in 331 career NHL games, all with the Islanders. During that time he amassed nine goals and 68 points with two power-play goals and two game-winners. A native of Longueuil, Quebec, Gervais was acquired by the Lightning from New York at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft on June 25 in exchange for future considerations. He was selected by the Islanders in the sixth round, 182nd overall, of the 2003 draft.
