The Ducks announced today that the club has acquired a fifth-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft from the Canadiens in exchange for defenseman Paul Mara. Mara, 31, appeared in 33 contests for Anaheim this season, scoring 1-1=2 points with 40 PIM. Originally selected by Tampa Bay in the first round (seventh overall) of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, Mara has earned 64-185=249 points with 728 PIM in 714 career contests with Tampa Bay, Phoenix, Boston, the New York Rangers, Montreal and Anaheim.
