The Blue Jackets have signed defenseman Steven Delisle to a standard three-year entry level contract, GM Scott Howson announced today. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed. Delisle, 19, registered five goals and 24 assists for 29 points, 77 penalty minutes and a +17 plus/minus rating in 64 games with Gatineau and Rouyn-Noranda of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in 2009-10. He ranked third on the Huskies in penalty minutes and was also third among club defensemen in assists and plus/minus rating. He added 1-3-4 and 12 penalty minutes in 11 playoff games. ?We are pleased to add Steven to our young group of defensemen who have recently turned professional,? Howson said. ?He is a defending defenseman who brings size and character to our organization.? A native of Levise, Quebec, Delisle was the Blue Jackets? third pick, 107th overall, in the 2008 Entry Draft.
