Penguins center Jordan Staal skated for about five minutes without full equipment at his team's morning skate on Tuesday. Stall was cut by the skate of Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban during a collision midway through the Penguins' 6-3 victory Friday in Game 1. He underwent surgery to repair a damaged tendon on top of his foot, but is expected to return to action during the playoffs. "I know there were a few chuckles when I said he is day to day. But he is day to day," Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said. "He's doing well and progressing and you saw him on the ice for a short time without his gear on testing out his foot in the skate."
