Joe Thornton will not play for the Sharks against the Avalanche on Sunday night. He is considered day-to-day with a lower-body injury suffered on Saturday night against the Canucks. Thornton had played in a team record 379 consecutive games and 398 overall dating back to his days in Boston. "He's pretty committed to playing and he wants to keep the streak alive," coach Todd McLellan said. "I think Joe is wired to play every game. What?s right for him is not to play."
