Bruins center Marc Savard has agreed to a seven-year contract extension worth $28.5 million, two sources told ESPN.com.
Boston general manager Peter Chiarelli announced the deal on Tuesday afternoon.
Savard will make $7 million for each of the first two seasons of the extension, $6.5 million the third season and $5 million the fourth season. His salary will then drop to $1.5 million for the 2014-15 season and $525,000 for each of the final two years of the deal.
