The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that it has signed forward prospect Brandon Yip to an entry-level contract. Yip, 24, spent the past four years at Boston University (Hockey East), where he totaled 108 points (45g/63a) in 139 career games. As a senior in 2008-09, he helped the Terriers capture their fifth national championship by posting 43 points (20g/23a) in 45 contests. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound right wing finished second on BU?s scoring chart in goals and fourth in points last season. ?Brandon had a very strong year at Boston University and wrapped up his collegiate career by serving as a leader on a championship team,? said Avalanche General Manager Greg Sherman. ?He has developed very well over the past four seasons and is ready to begin his pro career.?
