The Thrashers have re-signed defenseman Anssi Salmela to a multi-year contract. Terms of the deal were not released. Atlanta acquired Salmela from New Jersey in a trade on March 2. "He is a guy we wanted to get, and he showed us exactly what we wanted to see [during his time with the Thrashers]," general manager Don Waddell said. "He's a high-end skill player, and we wanted to move forward with him."
