Bruins Phil Kessel and David Krejci face surgeries that could keep them from playing early next season, according to an Associated Press report. Kessel, who led Boston with 36 goals, will have surgery for a torn rotator cuff and labrum in his shoulder. Krejci, second on the team with 73 points, will undergo hip surgery. GM Peter Chiarelli said Monday their status for the start of the season is questionable.
