Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have signed forward Justin Bernhardt to an entry level contract. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed. Bernhardt, 21, recently completed his fifth season in the Western Hockey League (WHL) where he led Prince Albert in scoring with 35-57-92 in 72 games. He also ranked 5th in the WHL in points and T-7th in assists. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Bernhardt set career-highs in goals (35), assists (57), points (92), penalty minutes (104) and games played (72) this season. He was also named a WHL Second Team All-Star following the season. A native of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Bernhardt appeared in 307 career WHL games with Prince Albert, Kelowna and Regina, recording 103-139-242 and 389 penalty minutes (PIM). He also appeared in six playoff games in 2006, collecting 2-4-6.
