Blackhawks president John McDonough admitted over the weekend that the team is looking to host the NHL's All-Star Game in the near future.
"We officially submitted a letter of interest to the NHL a while ago to host an All-Star Game," McDonough said Sunday. "I believe the timing is right."
The Blackhawks last hosted the event in 1991.
"I'm sure there have been a number of other cities applying for it," McDonough said. "When we hear back from the NHL, we'll make a strong run at it.
"If we're going to host an All-Star Game, our ultimate goal is it to be a premier, once-in-a-lifetime event similar to the Winter Classic. Maybe have a unique twist to it, something that has a very strong Chicago theme."
