The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned goaltender Dan LaCosta to the Syracuse Crunch, the club?s American Hockey League affiliate, Blue Jackets General Manager Scott Howson announced today. LaCosta, 22, stopped 15-of-17 shots in 35 minutes of action Saturday night at Nashville in relief of Fredrik Norrena. He has a 4-0-0 record with a 2.09 goals-against average and .933 save percentage in four games with the Crunch this season. He is 18-9-4 with a 2.42 goals-against average, .917 save percentage and four shutouts in 38 career AHL games. Last year, he stopped five-of-five shots in 13 minutes of action in his NHL debut with the Jackets at Nashville on Mar. 25, 2008. He was Columbus? fourth pick, 93rd overall, in the 2004 Entry Draft.
