The Dallas Stars kept their playoff hopes alive with a 3-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night. Loui Eriksson scored at the end of the second period to break a scoreless tie, giving Dallas momentum heading into the final twenty minutes of action. That lead didn't last long however, as Henrik Zetterberg lit the lamp on a wrist shot less than a minute into the third. With a sweep just minutes away, Mike Modano found the net on a power play to give the Stars a 2-1 lead midway through the final period. Brenden Morrow then scored on a wrister to seal the victory for Dallas, who struggled mightily in the first three games of the series against Detroit. The Red Wings recorded 34 shots on goal, against just 22 for the Stars. However, Marty Turco was brilliant for Dallas, recording 33 saves to keep the team's slim postseason hopes alive. Sergei Zubov assisted on two of the three goals Dallas scored at home in the win. The Red Wings threatened often in the final period, taking fifteen shots on goal, but Turco was sensational in keeping them off the board in the final minutes. Game Five will be Saturday night in Detroit as the Red Wings try to eliminate the Stars once again.
