The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired forward Nate DiCasmirro from the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for forward Steve Goertzen, Blue Jackets' General Manager Scott Howson announced today. DiCasmirro is assigned to the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus? American Hockey League affiliate. DiCasmirro, 29, is playing in his sixth professional season and has tallied eight goals and five assists for 13 points with 28 penalty minutes in 43 games with the AHL?s Providence Bruins and San Antonio Rampage this season. He has registered 63-108-171 and 171 penalty minutes in 381 career regular season AHL games with six clubs. He has also recorded 9-10-19 and 44 penalty minutes in 57 playoff games. The Atikokan, Ontario native played college hockey for St. Cloud State University in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and collected 51-85-136 and 156 penalty minutes in 147 games in four years. He earned WCHA Second Team All-Star Team honors in 2001-02 after notching 17-33-50 in 41 games.
