The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired a first round and a conditional fourth round Entry Draft pick from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for defenseman Adam Foote, club General Manager Scott Howson announced today. The Blue Jackets will receive Colorado?s first round pick in the 2008 Entry Draft if the Avalanche advance to the 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs. If the Avalanche do not qualify, Columbus will receive Colorado?s first round pick in the 2009 Entry Draft. The club will also receive a conditional fourth round pick in the 2009 Entry Draft. Foote tallied 10 goals and 39 assists for 49 points with 255 penalty minutes in 187 games since joining the Blue Jackets prior to the 2005-06 season, including 1-14-15 and 95 penalty minutes in 63 games this year. He has registered 65-218-283 and 1,395 penalty minutes in 986 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and Avalanche.
