Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has activated center Mikko Koivu from injured reserve and that center Dominic Moore has been claimed off waivers by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Koivu, 24 (3/12/83), has missed the last 24 games since suffering a broken bone in his leg on Nov. 16 in Vancouver. Koivu notched 16 points (5-11=16) and was a plus-5 in 19 games before suffering the injury. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound native of Turku, Finland, has 91 points (31-60=91) in 165 career NHL games - all with Minnesota. Koivu was Minnesota?s first round pick (No. 6 overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Moore, 27 (8/3/80), has posted three points (1-2=3) in 30 games for the Wild this season and has accumulated 41 points (18-23=41) in 186 career NHL games with the New York Rangers and Wild. Moore was acquired from Pittsburgh for Minnesota?s third-round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft on Feb. 27, 2007.
