The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed right wing Stefan Legein to a standard three-year entry level contract, club General Manager Scott Howson announced today. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed. Legein, 18, has collected 16 goals and 10 assists for 26 points with 52 penalty minutes and is +7 in 17 games with the Niagara Ice Dogs of the Ontario Hockey League. He ranks third in the OHL in goals and 14th in points while ranking tied for second in shorthanded goals (3), tied for fourth in power play goals (8) and is tied for seventh in penalty minutes. The Oakville, Ontario native registered 43-32-75 with 115 penalty minutes and was +31 in 64 games with Niagara (formerly Mississauga) last season. He was selected to play in the 2007 CHL Top Prospects Game and represented the Eastern Conference at the OHL All-Star Game, winning the fastest skater competition at the event. In 172 career OHL games, he has registered 53-46-99 and 253 penalty minutes.
