Tampa Bay Lightning Executive Vice President and General Manager Jay Feaster Issued a Statement Today Regarding Dan Boyle: ?The MRI on Dan Boyle?s surgically-repaired left wrist showed that two of the three tendons severed on September 22 have not properly healed and that additional surgery will be required. We have placed Dan on the NHL?s Injured Reserve List retroactive to his last game, November 3, 2007. Dan will be consulting with a number of hand and wrist specialists recommended to him by the Lightning medical staff, after which he will be scheduled for additional surgery on his wrist. Dan will be out of the Lightning line-up indefinitely. We will release further information regarding the surgery and Dan?s recovery and rehabilitation once it becomes available. ?While this is obviously a big disappointment to Dan and to our hockey club, it once again presents an opportunity for others to step-up and contribute. We had success early in the season when Dan was out of our line-up and we are confident that with the character and commitment we have in our locker-room we will once again weather this storm. Our primary goal continues to be having Dan Boyle return to perfect health with his wrist and come back at 100% to help our hockey team. ?In light of the medical findings on the MRI yesterday, it is important to note that over the course of the four games he played, Dan may have done so having only one of the three tendons fully intact. That he played, and played as many minutes as he did at such a high level of performance, is a testament to the fact that he is a warrior who consistently puts the team first. Having watched how hard he worked rehabbing earlier and knowing how badly he wants to be out there playing, we are confident that he will once again do everything possible to rejoin the team as quickly as he can.?
