One day after being placed on waivers, Dan Cloutier will get a taste of the minor leagues. Cloutier was assigned to the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL by the Kings on Saturday. After battling injuries and inconsistency last season, Cloutier on Friday was placed on waivers by the Kings. Following three consecutive 30-win campaigns with Vancouver, Cloutier missed all but 13 games of the 2005-06 season due to a knee injury. The 31-year-old was traded to the Kings in July 2006 with hopes of solving Los Angeles' goaltending problems.
