In anticipation of Sunday's free-agent signing period, the Coyotes waived two players Wednesday. Center Kevyn Adams and defenseman Nick Boynton, who both were brought to Phoenix under former General Manager Michael Barnett, were let go as part of a housecleaning that included five members of the amateur scouting staff. "It's trying to move a couple contracts to free up roster space and potentially some salary space," Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney said. "I think you'll see more and more of this in a cap world. Both guys are good players. If someone does pick them up, it gives us a little flexibility with the free-agent market."
