Martin Brodeur may again wear the crown as the NHL's top goaltender, but that doesn't mean those in authority are willing to listen attentively to his views on the game. The New Jersey Devils goaltender, who won his third Vezina Trophy two weeks ago, has abruptly resigned from the league's competition committee after 18 months of frustration. "I don't know if it's in protest," he said yesterday from his summer home north of Montreal. "I just don't want that responsibility any more. I thought I would be able to make a difference, but I guess I was wrong."
