John Ferguson, vice-president and general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Monday that the club has signed forward Simon Gamache to a two-year contract. Gamache, a 26-year-old native of Thetford Mines, Quebec played 44 games for Bern of the Swiss Elite League this past season collecting a league best 66 points (20 goals, 46 assists) along with 40 penalty minutes. Gamache maintained his scoring pace in the playoffs as he tied for the league lead with 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) in 16 playoff games. Gamache has played in 37 career NHL games for Atlanta, Nashville and St. Louis, registering four goals and five assists for nine points, along with 12 penalty minutes.
