The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the club has acquired center Stephen Dixon from Pittsburgh in exchange for center Tim Brent. Dixon, 21, spent the 2006-07 season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the American Hockey League (AHL), scoring 17-24=41 points with 43 PIM in 80 games played. In 11 playoff games, he collected 2-3=5 points with six PIM. In 2005-06 with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, the 5-11, 188-pound centerman recorded 12-17=29 points with 45 PIM. Dixon has played in all 80 of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's games in each of the past two seasons. In 236 career games with Cape Breton of Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), Dixon collected 83-141=224 points with 139 PIM. He was originally drafted by Pittsburgh in the seventh round (229th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
