With no clear-cut dominant player available this year, the Blackhawks have a difficult decision to make. In what is being considered a weak talent pool, the Blackhawks will make the first selection in Friday's NHL Entry Draft at Nationwide Arena. Despite finishing ahead of four other teams this past season, Chicago received the honor of making the initial pick by winning the draft lottery despite having just an 8.1 percent chance. It is the first top pick in franchise history for the Blackhawks, whose previous highest position in the draft was third overall, a spot they held four times - most recently in 2006, when they chose Jonathan Toews. But with no player the caliber of Erik Johnson, Sidney Crosby or Alex Ovechkin - the last three first overall selections - there for the taking, the Blackhawks have no "sure thing" to add to their organization.
