Chris Drury is forever immortalized in the New York area as the boy who twirled a five-hitter in the title game to pitch Trumbull to the 1989 Little League World Series championship. Back then, though a Rangers fan who loved going to the Garden, he dreamed of pitching for the Yankees - he wears No. 23 in tribute to Don Mattingly. The Rangers are expected to pursue Drury when he hits the open market July 1. As per club policy, he and the Sabres have not engaged in contract extension talks in months. "No, we never got into it," Drury said. "My feeling kind of all along was: If it was going to be quick - a one-day deal - good, let's get it out of the way."
