The Coyotes missed the playoffs for the fourth straight season, costing GM Don Maloney his job, a source told ESPN's Pierre LeBrun on Monday.

Coach Dave Tippett remains with the team, the source said.

The Coyotes finished with 22 more points than in 2014-15 and were knocking on the door of the playoffs in January, but they couldn't keep the momentum going.
